SAY WHAT? WEDNESDAYS

Excuses for not eating:
These are all exclaimed at least once during meal times.
1. "Too hot, mama". - this one is her favorite
2. "Too big". - apparently every bite is too big now.
3. "Too spicy". - I think I've said this maybe once and now she says it all the time. I don't think she even knows what it means.
4. " no, no, no mama, milk".

SUMMER CLOTHES

I made a total of five of these tunics. Simplicity pattern 4203. Same pattern as Easter dress.

This one is my favorite. They also look better without a shirt on underneath. Violet calls this her 'happy to you' shirt. She really means to say 'happy birthday to you' and I'm guessing she associates icecream with birthdays. Funny.

I cleaned out my closets about a month ago and was bagging up some old clothes to donate when I decided to save some stuff and repurpose it. This was originally an old dress of mine that I turned into a skirt for Violet. I made the lining a little longer so it would hang lower than the printed material. Added some white ric-rac and a bow.

This was a last minute dress. I found this material and had to have it. I used McCalls pattern 5836.

I think I'm done sewing summer outfits for Violet. I still have a a yard or two of some more fabric but think I'll wait to use it.

EASTER DINNER AT GRANDMA & GRANDPA YOUNGS

Lately, trying to get a good pic of Violet and I is almost impossible. She just wants to act silly. Violet's dress is made from Simplicity pattern 4203 and mine is from Simplicity pattern 2591.

Another egg hunt at Grandma & Grandpa Young's house. Cousin Thomas is showing Violet were the eggs are.

Being shy.

Another attempt at a photo. A little better.

EASTER MORNING

Searching for Easter eggs.

The giant chocolate bunny is hollow. Otherwise we might be eating it for a year.

Violet can open and close the eggs so trying to keep her from eating lots of candy this morning was kind of hard. I finally hid the basket in the bathroom or she would have eaten everything.

Besides some candy, Violet got a nightgown w/ bunny slippers for her baby and the Grandma and Grandpa bunnies, from Grandma F, that go along with the rest of her bunny family she has.

mmmm.....peeps!

GIRLY JOHN DEERE

Last summer one of our neighbors sold us their little John Deere Gator for $15! What a deal! Last year she was still to small for it and couldn't reach the peddles. She can now reach the peddles but is having some trouble remembering to keep her foot on the gas and steer at the same time. I painted it a purpley blue color and added the flower decals I ordered on line. I cleaned it really good with 409 and used the Krylon spray paint for plastic. We'll see how well it holds up to kids jumping around on it.

Left the seats yellow because I thought they might not hold up to new paint. I ended up using lots of blue tape and plastic bags to tape areas off that I didn't want painted purple.

EASTER EGG HUNT 2010

Last night was our neighborhood easter egg hunt. It was originally scheduled for this evening but rain was in the forecast.

All the kids on our street. There are a lot!

All the little ones under age four searched for eggs in our yard.

Violet did much better this year getting around. This time last year she was still not walking.

FLASHBACK FRIDAYS

I posted the real pic of this last year. But here it is again. Chris did not like this bunny.
Happy Easter!

PURPLE DAY

Yesterday was purple day at school. Violet was the coolest in her Batman tshirt.

Addi and Gillian got a new swing set so we played on it last night. At one point all the girls were sitting at the table, but I wasn't quick enough with the camera.
