HATES ALL FORMS OF WATER
Since we left for StL the day after Christmas we didn't get to play in the snow. So we tried today. Here's Violet getting ready.
Looks like fun!
Not so much. Violet cried the whole time. We didn't even make it off the driveway and into the grass.
I stood her in some snow that was still left in the driveway.
Violet officially hates water. The frozen kind and liquid kind.

WHERE'S THE DRIVEWAY?
CHRSTMAS MORNING
Before the chaos.
Violet loves her stove. She looks tiny next to it. But she'll grow into it and be able to play with it for years.
Cleaning the sink.
More people. That's what she calls her Playmobile toys. Santa brought her two more sets to add to her Zoo set. More people means more rides in her shoes.
She also got the V-tech phone because she's obsessed with the house phone. What I like about this phone is that it looks like a real cordless phone.
New doll with hair! We'll see how long it takes before the hair looks all ratty. I bet I'll be combing it every night. It's the Sleeping Beauty baby doll. Comes with little stuffed Flora, Fauna, and Merryweather fairies.
Violet got Dada plastic popcorn buckets. Which she thought were hats.
BOOM! The aftermath.

A VERY GRINE CHRISTMAS
Tonight we had Christmas festivities at Aunt Shannon and Uncle Jason's house. We ate good food and had fun opening gifts.
Violet got right into opening presents and tearing the paper. Surprisingly she was interested in each gift before running off to find another one to open.

COOKIES
This morning we made sugar cookies. Violet liked rolling out the dough but preferred just squeezing it in between her fingers.
We watched the cookies in the oven and she told me it's 'hot'.
Then after nap time we iced the cookies.
I think Violet ate more of the red hots than she did putting them on the cookies.
Then when we were all done we got to stick our fingers in the icing.

STUFFED VOL. 3 IN STORES JAN 1!
My ice cream guys are in the current issue of Stuffed Magazine. I just got mine in the mail the other day. They hit stores January 1st. I really love how they staged the photo. They look so cute and edible! Some of these guys are also in the Luv-able & Hug-able show going on right now. There is still one more ice cream guy in my Etsy store. Click image to see larger.
Here is the cover of Stuffed Volume 3. My local Borders has carried all the past issues.
READY FOR COOKIN'
We finished the stove and sink last night. We are thrilled at how it turned out. Neither one of us are wood workers by any means and to have put this together ourselves feels really good. We hit a few snags along the way but nothing major. We have enough MDF left that we may make a small fridge. Maybe for her birthday. It would be nice extra storage. I'm afraid all the food and stuff I've made and bought isn't all going to fit in the stove.
Decided on three shelves instead of the original four.
Found this rack at Lowes. Thought it would be great as added storage. We also added a rack in the oven along with a push light.
The only thing left to do is paint a V in the circle on the back splash.
We stayed almost exact to the original sketch I did about 3 months ago.

POST SHOT ICECREAM
Violet had the first of two of the H1N1 shot yesterday. Didn't shed a tear. Maybe because I was pinching her finger really hard. She got a 'sticky' (sticker) and then because it was still early we got some ice cream.
Violet trying to say cheese and take a drink.
I asked her if her tummy was full and she gave me this pose. Very funny.

LEFTY?
Could she be a lefty? Violet seems to favor her left hand but I've seen her draw with her right too. So who knows. She is very much into coloring right now and gets very serious about. Chris traced her hand the other night and now that's all she wants to do. Just about every night this week all she's wanted to do after dinner is color.
