Chris and I took the day off and did some fun stuff with Violet. It seems like all we ever do is go to Target. Sad I know. So we decided to do something different.
First we stopped by our office where Violet walked away with more presents. Miss Allison gave her a dog that she LOVES, Miss Liz gave her her froggy key chain that makes noise and Miss Maria ended up giving Violet these cute felted slippers she made.
SUPER cute! We work with awesome people!
Then we headed over to Crown Center and walked around the toy store.
We've been planning on getting Violet these bunnies for a while now. They are part of the Calico Critters series. I love all the houses and accessories for these little animal families.
After the toy store we headed over to an exhibit that is going on right now about Fairy Tales. Unfortunately it was jam packed with kids and Violet was a little overwhelmed. She's not pushy and tends to get knocked around a bit. We didn't stay very long, but we got some cute pics.
Then we headed over to Fritz's for lunch. This was the best part of the morning. Violet LOVED it. Fritz's delivers your food by trains that run along the ceiling.
There are also glass cases around the booths that have trains running in them.
Here's the track along the ceiling. You can kind of see our train way in the distance heading for our table.
Then it drops off the food on the elevator that lowers it down to the table. Violet was speechless.
She ate almost her entire burger. I think it was because she was distracted by all the trains.
And lastly we went over to the fudge shop to get a piece of candy.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY DR.SEUSS
Today is Dr. Seuss' birthday and it was Dr. Seuss day at school. Violet wore her Thing 1 & Thing 2 dress I made last fall. This is the dress she was supposed to get school pictures in, but cried the whole time. She also got to take a Dr. Seuss book to share at school.
Here's Violet thinking the remote is a phone.

HAPPY 2nd BIRTHDAY
Violet being difficult.
Violet finally understood her shirt by the time we picked her up from school. I think the ladies at school kept telling her what it said because when we picked her up she ran to the door holding her shirt saying 'Happy Violet, happy happy'. She also told us all about the cookies she had today for her birthday and that she got to paint a pig pink. Apparently it's farm animals week.
Proclaiming she's two.

PARTY FOR THREE
Two years ago today I it was 70 something, we grilled brauts, I cleaned out the garage and we sat on the driveway in lawn chairs counting the contractions and then left for the hospital around 7pm.
Today the three of us celebrated Violet's birthday. Tomorrow she will officially be 2. Tomorrow is also the first day in her new room at school. She gets to take treats and have show and tell because it's her birthday. It'll be a big day.
Violet likes to gobble like a turkey and we look for turkeys everyday on the way home from school, so we thought this cake was appropriate. This is an ice cream cake from Baskin Robbins.
Violet just wanted to eat the green icing. 'Geen Mama, geen!'
Here she is telling me she's two.

FRESH AIR
We managed to get out side for about an hour this afternoon. It was 40 and sunny so we took advantage of it. Violet got to ride her new bike outside for the first time.
Because Violet has a melon of a head, I think sometime this summer we're going to need a to get a new helmet. She didn't fight us when we put it on her. I think she still remembers it from last summer. She calls it 'Violet's hat'.
