BUILD IT AND THEY WILL COME

Literally! We had about 7 kids running around the backyard and sitting on that slide.
Thanks to Great Grandpa, Violet is getting a swing set. We staked it out last night in the one corner of the yard that we haven't landscaped. Based on this photo it looks like we have nothing back there but if you'd turn around it's a bit of a jungle. In fact that small evergreen caused us problems in figuring out the placement. When we planted that 2 years ago we thought we had it over to the left far enough.
Violet decided to take the directions from us and build it herself because we weren't moving fast enough.

WE WANT TO EAT!

Every night when we come home we have a routine of letting the dogs out, feeding the dogs, making dinner and eating. Violet is usually running (more like wobbling) around during all of this. This particular picture was taken before I let the dogs in to eat. They are usually very anxious to get inside and don't like having Violet right there at the door laughing and pointing at them.

FIRST FRIEND BIRTHDAY PARTY

Violet went to her first birthday party of a friend on Saturday. Her name is Claire and she turned 2. Violet gets very excited when she sees Claire outside and gets very upset when we don't go out.

Here is Violet and Claire in the big inflatable bouncy. Violet didn't quite know what to do so she just sat there while everyone else bounced.

Chris and I made the cut out bear for the party.

There were lots of carnival games and prizes to win.

We got our face painted, had popcorn, cotton candy, hotdogs (actually just the bread with mustard) cupcakes and icecream. Violet was so wore out we almost didn't make it through dinner because she was getting sleepy. At bedtime she fell a sleep on my shoulder so hard she was drooling and snoring.

READY TO SHOP

Violet now has a little purse and wallet to play with. She loves getting a hold of Chris's wallet and taking all his cards out so I picked up some gift cards at Target that she can play with. What's great about the cards from Target is they have some great images illustrations.

No, Violet isn't sunburned. Her face gets red when she over heats. We had just come in from playing outside.

IT'S HOT

Ready for swimming. This suit is 18 months and fits tight. We may  need another by the middle of the summer.

Grandma and Violet.

This is the first time Violet's gotten into her baby pool. She's not a fan of the cold water.  We're hoping she gets used to it so we can go to the big pool later this summer.

You can hook the hose up to the pool and it'll spray like a fountain. Violet was not a fan of that feature.
