MMM...DONUTS

Violet ate 7 of these this morning. Not the best breakfast. But she ate. I did throw in some applesauce. Of course that I had to practically force down.

Translation: pretty dress

That's what Violet says when we wrap her up in her bath towel.

FIRST MOVIE

Violet saw her first movie today. We went to the $2 showing of Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs. We thought we'd test going to the movies with a $2 show. I'd rather be out $6 than $30 if she fussed and wanted to leave.

She did really well. She didn't like how loud it was and got squirmy the last half hour.

We've been telling her for a couple days now that we were going to go see a movie and get popcorn. I think she was more excited about the popcorn than the movie.

JULY 4TH FUN

Lots of yummy food.

Everybody chipped in and rented a bounce house. Violet was timid at first but quickly warmed up.

We had to start the fireworks early because rain was coming. The guys set it all up at end of the culdesac and everybody sits at the top of the street and watches.

Here's the last shot just before the rain really started to come down.

TEA PARTY

All dressed up for Hailey's 4th birthday. I made her a cherry apron that's reversible. I wish this picture has turned out better. She was dancing around the kitchen and I didn't have time to get my good camera so grabbed my little point and shoot and snapped this pic. To bad it's a bit fuzzy.

Pretty table.

First chocolate covered strawberry. Of course she ate mostly the chocolate and left the strawberry. She also didn't eat most of the other treats.

Of course the ate all the ice cream and cupcake.

OOPS, I FELL IN

When we picked Violet up from school on friday she was in a completely different outfit. Apparently she fell in the toilet and got all wet. We didn't have any extra shirts at school so she came home in some random shirt that I guess school has a stack of. Guess I'll be taking a shirt or two to school just in case this happens again.

We started the holiday weekend off early with a trip to Baskin Robbins. I asked Violet what color ice cream she wanted. She replied "green!". That would be mint chocolate chip, the best, and I will only eat it at Baskin Robbins. Now I've got Violet hooked.

PAINTING

None of our friends were outside monday night so we decided to stay in and paint. Violet is really more interested in the water changing colors. I had to change the water about a dozen times because "it was dirty".

TOO HOT!!!!

It's too hot to do anything outside and too hot to be in a car for to long. Violet's been getting a little antsy to get out of the house, so we decided to go to Petco which is only 5 min from the house and look at some animals. It's air conditioned, it's free, and I can pick up dog food.
We got to see a dog getting a hair cut. Violet thought that was very funny.

Violet said the guinea pigs were playing peekaboo.

MATCHY, MATCHY

I was unloading the dishwasher the other night and Violet wanted to help. So I told her she could put her cups on the counter. I would hand her a cup and then she'd go and put it on the counter. The whole time I had my back to the area of the counter where she was putting her cups. Once she had finished getting all the cups she wanted the lids. So I handed those to her too. She put them on the counter and then ran off. I finished unloading the rest of the dishes and turned around expecting to see a pile of cups and lids all over the counter, only I discovered this. All the cups lined up with the correct lids. I also noticed that the cups are almost lined up in gradual size order. I don't know who she gets this from. ;)

AMAZING!

We spent most of the morning yesterday drawing. Violet prefers markers over crayons right now. These are the first darwings from her that look like more than scribbles. I'm amazed at these. The top drawings are school buses. She loves school buses. She's drawn these before on her Magna Doodle and I'm glad I got a drawing now that I can keep.
The second drawing is of people. I tried to really simplify them for her by showing her as few steps as possible. A circle and two lines. I'd draw one then she'd draw one. We must have filled up 5 to 6 pages of people. She came home a couple weeks ago drawing circles and squares and I was impressed. She's now taking those shapes and turning them into pictures. Awesome and she's not even 2 1/2!
