FIRST REAL BOO BOO'S

Violet fell on the driveway while running on friday evening. This was her first real boo boo that required band aids. It wasn't until she was all done being cleaned up and had on her band aids that she almost passed out on me. A bit alarming to me. I knew she only hit her knees not her head. I was carrying her down stairs and we were headed back outside when she cried mommy, turned white and fell backwards all limp. I guess she just has a weak stomach. Takes after Chris.

SPILLED MILK

Violet was in a different outfit this afternoon. Her messy clothes were all tied up in a plastic bag in her school bag. Right away we assumed she had an accident and didn't make it to the potty in time. We asked her if she messed her undies and she said yes. Once home I took the plastic bag out of her book bag and only found her shorts and top she had on this morning. I asked her where her undies were and she looked puzzled. I checked to see what she had on and sure enough it was the pair I put on her this morning. I was confused. I looked at her and showed her her wet clothes and asked what happened. It took her a minute but she told me she spilled her milk and got all wet. I wish a note would have come home explaining that. Then I felt bad for assuming she had an accident.
Knock on wood, Violet has been accident free for over two weeks and is only in a diaper at bedtime. We are officially down to seven diapers a week!!!

PULL, PULL, PULL

All the girls were taking turns riding and pulling the wagon last night. They'd make it to the cul-de-sac and then struggle pulling the wagon back up because it's a bit of a hill.

When home in June I went through a box of patterns mom had and decided to take a few back home with me and make Violet an outfit or two. I guess they'd be considered vintage or retro but they don't seem old enough to me to be called that.

The temperature on Sunday was actually bearable so we decided to walk to our neighborhood park with our neighbors.

BUNNIES ON THE POTTY

Yesterday morning Violet was playing with her Calico Critters Bunny family. She really likes sit them at their table and feed them dinner, which are magnets from a Melissa & Doug magnetic dress up set.

As I got closer I noticed one of the chairs at the table was a potty.

ART UNLEASHED 2010

Art Unleashed is coming up. The art auction that benefits the Humane Society for Kansas City is Friday August 27. This is my sixth year and I love doing it. This year I contributed two pieces.

Old school chairs were being offered to decorate any way you’d like. So I volunteered to take a chair. I decided I wanted it to be very simple and graphic. I spray painted the entire chair black and then just made a slip cover for the back and a cushion for the seat. I also added a tail that wraps around one of the legs.

I also made a stuffed owl that will be auctioned off too. More pics can be seen here.

PIZZA, PIZZA!

Grandma's in town this week. We got some pizza last night and a balloon. Violet was upset that her balloon was all deflated this morning and told me to fix it.

Imagine the scene. A fly is flying around the dinner table. Violet swats at the fly and yells, "no no ladybug, don't bother me". I should mention all bugs are ladybugs.
