ARRR MATEY

Violet is kind of into Pirates right now. We've seen two episodes of Backyardigans that had to do with Pirates. I made her an eye patch on Sunday. Sunday morning she told me I was bad and needed to walk the plank.
Video below is from Sunday evening,

STILL PAINTING

I took this pic last weekend with my phone. So it's not a great picture. This high entryway ceiling is why we've avoided painting for five years. This took a bit of creative thinking to do. The area above the front door wasn't so bad. It was bit of a pain painting over the steps and the dining room door.

Then this weekend I painted the inside of the front door a brown that matches the floor and stair railing.
You can kind of see the white on the walls we've painted too. Next up is buying the wood for the chair rail.

This has been sitting down in my studio for a few weeks now and I've been meaning to scan it. I did this quick sketch during one of our snow days last month.

SAY WHAT? WEDNESDAYS

Last night we decided to get Chinese for dinner. To make Violet eat we always tell her that in order to get her cookie(fortune cookie) she has to eat all her dinner. When the cookies came I showed her how to break it open. Usually I always break it for her and break up the pieces. This time I let her do it. Chris and I were reading our fortunes out loud. I asked Violet what she thought hers said. She looked down at it, as if she were reading it and said, "Violet eat her food all gone". Chris and I were dying laughing. She thought she was pretty funny. Someone has discovered humor.

WHAT I'VE BEEN DOING TODAY

Chris snapped these pics with the phone this afternoon. We asked Violet what she was doing here and she said she was "making him better".

We moved Violet's chair back into the living room and she's been using it a lot. It's become her game playing chair. She got a Vtec MobiGo for her birthday and has been playing it quite a bit.

WE MAKE'EM BIG

Yesterday was Violet's 3yr check up and all went well. She is still tall for her age. Violet is 39" tall putting her in the 90th percentile. I don't think she's ever been out of the 90's. She weighs 32.5 lbs putting her in the 64th percentile. I think her percentile on weight was lower last year. We also discussed with the Dr. her almost fainting spells she had this past year. Between April and October of last year she had 4. All happened when she hurt herself or felt some kind of pain. They are a little scary when they happen. The Dr. said don't be to concerned but to let them know if they become very frequent. She hasn't one since October and I think it's because she can better communicate with us when she hurts herself or doesn't feel good.
So all is good.
And yes, the shirt she has on is short in the sleeves and length and I am not buying anymore long sleeve shirts this close to spring. That shirt is a 3t too.

DINING WITH DINOS

Grandma Fabsits is still in town and yesterday we decided to do some shopping and have lunch at the T-Rex Cafe. It's a bit of a drive for us so it's not somewhere we go often. I think it's been a year and half since the last visit.
Violet loves Dino Dan on Nick Jr. We usually watch it on Saturday or Sunday while we eat lunch. So she was super excited when we told her we were going to eat lunch with dinosaurs.
Of course we got there and she wasn't a fan of the flashing lights, growling or the T-Rex trying to "eat Grandma's head".

She soon warmed up to the dinosaurs but told us she really liked the pink one best.

This was the Mommy Triceratops because to the right of her was a smaller Triceratops which Violet said was the baby.

Of course Daddy has no will power and bought a stuffed Triceratops.
Violet was pretty sure that dinosaurs were going to bring us our lunch and was disappointed when it was "just a man" that brought us our lunch. We told her they were to busy making everyone's lunches to bring out the food.
