DISNEY ON ICE

This morning we went to see Disney on Ice:Treasure Trove. I decided very last minute to make Rapunzel's dress. So last minute I started it last night. Took 4hr 15min. I simplified the pattern and made the whole thing out of cotton. Much easier to clean than her Snow White dress.

She really became interested in the show when the princesses arrived. Which was the second half.

Finished the afternoon off with lunch at Crown Center and a quick tour of where Mommy and Daddy work. She's been asking for months to see where we work. I told her it's really not that exciting.

She kept saying she wasn't tired.

BOWLING

We went bowling with our neighbors on Friday. I forgot to post these pics. I didn't get a picture of Violet bowling because she insisted I help her every time she was up to bowl.

A LEPRECHAUN WAS IN THE HOUSE

A Leprechaun stopped by our house last night and wrapped our kitchen table in green. He left a shamrock cup and some chocolate in a gold box. I happened to get a glimpse of him as I was coming in from the garage last night and took a photo.;) Ah... the magic of Photoshop. I googled leprechaun, found a pic and slapped him in the photo. Violet was convinced and alarmed all at the same time. She had a million questions.

This morning we made green biscuits and green gravy.

LEPRECHAUN DAY

All dressed up for her party at school today. The Leprechaun sneaks into school and makes messes in all the classes rooms and leaves chocolate. I think he may be stopping by the house tonight too.

4 YEAR CHECKUP

I meant to post this a week ago.
Violet had her 4 year checkup on the 1st. She is 42 1/2" tall putting her in the 93% ans weighs 36 1/2lbs putting her in the 64%. I was hoping she weighed more so we could switch to the highback booster. I asked the Dr., MO law is 4 and 40. Based on our scale at home she fluctuated between 38 and 39. So I guess our scale is off by about 3 lbs. Good for me I weight 3lbs less!
I looked at last years numbers. She was only in the 90th percentile for height. She grew 3 inches this year. She's complained all year about how her arms and legs hurt. I now believe she's been having growing pains.

My favorite photo from today. Once the weather warms up and the flowers start blooming I plan on taking her 4 year pics outside wearing her dress and holding her umbrella. Maybe go to Unity Village for those.

VIOLET'S BIRTHDAY

Besides three of my old Barbies and the clothes I made Chris and I got her a Barbie house. Kidcraft makes a few different houses. We got this one at Costco back in early December because it was one of their christmas items. A lot cheaper to buy then. The house is totally 80's! Love it!

Then we went over to our friends house and took ice cream to share with everyone. Mint chocolate chip from Baskin Robbins to be exact. Violet's favorite.


Celebrating with our friends. It was a great night until Violet decided to bust her lip and bruise her forehead because she was jumping on the couch and fell. Something she is not allowed to EVER do at home but thinks it's ok to do at other peoples houses.

CRAFT TIME

Monday night everyone was grumpy and tired so we decided to stay in, watch a movie and make some jewelry.
Violet wanted to watch Princess Bride. Or as she calls it The Princess and the Pirate. The movie has one bad word in it. Chris and I always have loud coughing fits at that part. Must be something in the air ;)

THINK PINK

What is that glow at the end of the hallway?

It's our new pink bathroom. I repainted it this weekend.
The pictures don't really do it justice. It's a clean salmony pink color. I decided to keep our old shower curtain because the pink matches one of the pink stripes. Although I did find some fun pink poodle fabric that would make an awesome shower curtain. I'd have to change my decor then.
I originally painted it a light turquoise 7 years ago. Time for a change. Violet has also been asking about wanting her room pink. I said NO. Why no? Because her room has a huge vaulted ceiling and I don't really want to have to repaint it again some day when she decides she hates pink. So I said lets paint the bathroom instead. She was excited about that. She got to paint her name on the wall before we started and then got to use the paint roller, which she complained was too heavy.

Everything else is pretty much the same. Except the hand towels. I decided to lease the turquoise tissue holder and toothbrush holder. It breaks up all that pink and doesn't look bad.

Brand new fancy faucet. No more builder grade faucet! And now the drain actually drains!

Will be adding white crown molding next.
