PUMPKIN PICKING 2013

I really thought this wasn't going to happen this year.  But we made it! Our annual trip to the pumpkin farm. The weather was great and Violet had fun. It wore me out though.

 

Rule is, she can have whatever pumpkin she wants as long as she can carry it.

 

It's so heavy.

I didn't make it out to the field this year. I stayed back and sat at the picnic tables. Chris went out to the field with her.

After they came back we headed over to the kid play area for a while.

 

Here's what little man did the whole time.

 

Ans then at the end he lost it. Violet picked out his pumpkin. Funny it looks to be about the same size as his head.

FIRST BATH

Gryphin got his first real bath last night. Violet got to help out by pouring water on him. No crying or fussing during the bath. Getting dressed is a different story. He likes the hairdryer. The below pic is after his bath. Got some crazy hair.

2 WEEK CHECK UP

Not exactly the most flattering picture, but he makes this face every time he's done eating.

We went to his two week check up this afternoon.

He currently weighs 8.6 lbs. and is 21 1/2" long. He was born at 8 lbs and left the hospital at 7.11 lbs. The Dr. is sure the hospital didn't get an accurate measurement because there is no way he grew 1 3/4" in 2 weeks. So he measures the same as Violet did at birth.

38 WEEKS

Tomorrow is National Talk Like a Pirate Day. So...

I be 38 weeks and baby be measurin' t' length o' a leek. Aye yeterday was my last appointment before headin' t' t' hospital next week. C-section still scheduled. Nothin' really new t' report. Me final weigh in be at 24lbs gained. Though I still feel like I look heavier than I did with Violet. I be swellin' more this time around. May have t' do with t' heat and time o' year bein' pregnant. Next baby update will be a cute baby photo and t' name. Arrr!

CHILLY MORNING

Feels like fall today. Violet got to wear one of her new fall outfits today. She was pretty excited. She said 'I look like a big kid'. Yes you do :(.

I'm not sure what's going on with her posed smiles lately.  She's not really opening her mouth. She had school pictures on friday and I fear they're gonna look funny.

A MONSTER BABY SHOWER

All of our Hallmark friends threw us an awesome baby shower this afternoon. A monster themed ice cream party to be exact.

All our loot. I was going to take pictures of it all when I got home but I ran out of steam. Know that it was all awesome. We couldn't be more grateful! Now to write some than you notes.

DAISIES!!

Last night was our first Daisy Girl Scout meeting. Yes I'm a leader and probably crazy for taking that on, but so far I'm planned ahead for about 6 meetings. Not bad. We ended up having eight girls show up. We'll see if we gain anymore in the next few weeks with maybe word of mouth. Getting the info out that we even exist has been kind of difficult.

 

Buddy Addi is a Daisy too and her mom is the other leader. Which is nice since we live right across from each other.

I will not be able to post pictures of the troop because of a Girl Scout rule so I'll have to take pics without the other girls. I am going to take pics of our troop to share with parents and maybe create a book at the end of the year that the parents can purchase. A fun keepsake for the girls.

37 WEEKS

Baby is the size of Swiss Chard. I'm guessing that's in length because otherwise he's awful skinny.

Chard, is a leafy green vegetable often used in Mediterranean cooking. The leaves can be green or reddish in color like Bib Lettuce, chard stalks also vary in color. Chard has been bred to have highly nutritious leaves at the expense of the root.

Baby still breech and I'm dilated to only a 1. So probably no chance I'll go into labor before the scheduled c-section. Which was my fear. However Friday night I thought I might have been. Horrible back pain at 1:45am. Couldn't tell if it was just that or cramping. This is how contractions started with Violet. Back pain has continued every night since friday. Sleeping is not happening.

On a good note I'm holding steady at having gained 22.6 lbs for the last two appointments. We'll see what the final number will be in two weeks. Violet was 22.4 at the end. Though I feel like I've gained 10lbs more that is not the case. I should be back in my skinny jeans by Xmas!!

KC REN FEST

Early morning at the Renaissance Festival.  Prepared ourselves for a hot day but it wasn't to bad. It ended up being cloudy till after we left. I packed lots of water and frozen wash cloths.

Pirate theme this weekend.

It pays to look cute and dress like a fairy. She got lots of attention today.

With 3 1/2 weeks to go this is how I enjoyed the Ren Fest.

35 WEEKS

So this week baby is the size of  a honeydew melon.

He apparently is not going to flip so a C section has been scheduled for week 39. Now I just hope I don't go into labor before the scheduled C section. Let the count down begin!!

HOT SOCCER

We played our first soccer game of the season yesterday and it was hot.

Violet played well even in the heat.
