CHRISTMAS PIC

I took our Christmas card photo this morning. Everyone cooperated! And by everyone I mean Gryphin. No screaming or squirming and his eyes are actually open.

I must have worn him out yesterday. He slept like this for an hour and a half when we got home.

WINTER READY

I found some time to make Harley a coast for the winter. She hates getting wet and hopefully this will help. What hair she has is thin. It's definitely not like Willows. No under coat of hair to keep her warm.  In fact at night she sleeps under blankets.

The coat is pink, lime green and brown. The collar flips up to cover part of her head if needed. She's not digging it right now but hope she'll get used to it.

 

HALLOWEEN 2013

Big day at the Grine house today. Halloween! Started off by dressing in her Halloween attire for school today.

Then Chris spent the rest of the day setting up our display in the garage due to rain this year. Though the rain ended by 2:00 we could have never gotten everything set up in the yard in a short period of time.

Harley got in on the action of dressing up.

We carved pumpkins tonight. Violet drew hers out and Chris carved it.

WEEKEND VISITOR

Aunt Karen came in town to see the baby. Yesterday we went shopping and left little man with Chris. We headed to Oak Park Mall. I haven't been there in over a year and a half.

We had lunch at Nordstroms, went to the American Girl sore, Lego store, bought Violet's Christmas outfit and rode the carousel. A very fun filled afternoon.

 

Rounded out the day playing dolls. She was upset that we left the American Girl store without buying anything.

GIRL SCOUTS HALLOWEEN PARTY

We had our Girl Scout Halloween party tonight. I think everyone had fun. We decorated mini pumpkins, listened to Halloween music and ate cupcakes.

BUNDLED UP

We took a short walk yesterday. I'm technically not supposed to do that till 6 weeks but I needed to get out of the house. I'm tired of looking at the living room.

It was definitely chilly. I was able to use the padded foot muff that came with the stroller. I never had a chance to use it withe Violet because of the time of year. It came in handy.

 

SOCCER PARTY

 

We went to Violet's end of the season soccer party last night at a pizza place. She got her trophy and pictures too.

We took Violet and Gryphin to get some photos taken in their Halloween costumes.  I just don't have time to take any myself. There not to bad. I'm not a fan of the blue background on the bottom one and wish this pose had been done against white. But it will do.

LAST SOCCER GAME

I missed over half of Violet's soccer games this season but made it to the last one. She played awesome as usual!

DERBY CAR BUILD

I am in desperate need for a creative outlet right now. I'm starting to get itchy.

Violet is participating in the Girl Scouts Powder Puff Derby race in a few weeks. This is like the Boy Scouts Pine Wood Derby. Once I have the car built Violet and I are going to paint and decorate it. Violet has decided to make the car look like the candy car driven by Vanellope from Wreck It Ralph. I searched for images of the car and then drew up some plans on the computer. I'll post more pics of the progress.

FIRST PARENT/TEACHER CONFERENCE

Had our very first parent/teacher conference tonight and we couldn't be more proud of Violet. I'm not really familiar with the grading system but she got all 3's. 1, 2, or 3 is how they grade. She knew all her letters, sounds, numbers and sight words!! Her teacher is ready to give her a reading readiness test which she said she doesn't usually do till spring.
Apparently she talks too much at her table of four. Her teacher said she's a completely different kid when she's at her table and comfortable with her surroundings. She's more reserved when they all have to get into a group. Not surprised by this at all.
