WHAT TO DO WITH OUR S.W.A.P.S.

So I decided to make a SWAPS banner to hold all of Violet's GS SWAPS. The hats I bought the girls were just baseball style hats that really won't be able to hold a ton of SWAPS. I was afraid buying bucket style hats would have been just way to big for our girls heads. Even these hats were big on a few of them. Maybe when they are brownies we'll get those kind of hats. So as a result the banner idea came to mind. So after every camp we'll remove them from the hats and add them to the banner. Hopefully this banner can hold two years worth and then we'll just make a new one. Right now it's hanging on the inside of her closet door.

MOTHER'S DAY ICE CREAM

@ Yogurtini. Violet likes a little ice cream with her toppings.

BABY BIRDS

We have a nest in our tiny evergreen tree in the backyard. The nest can't be more than 5feet off the ground. Tree is only about 7 feet tall.  I can just walk right up to it and look into it. Violet can't see into the nest so I have to lift her up. We noticed the eggs last week. I've been checking it the last few days but mommy bird was always in it. I saw her fly out of it yesterday so I went to take a look.

It's hard to tell how many are in there. I know there were three eggs. We hung a bird feed we made at camp last week and it's already gone. Might have to make some more.

LAST SPRING SOCCER GAME

Warm up. Practicing drills.

Nom nom nom.

Played CRAZY good today. She's figured out kicking with the side of her foot. Can do pull backs with out being told. Can weave in and out of players. Kicks the ball hard when they get into a clump of girls and then takes off running after it. Her long legs make her super fast and many girls have a hard time keeping up with her.  Chris and I are always amazed when we see her play. How did two artists create an athlete. Mind boggling :).

Sporting the bun hawk for the last game.

DONUTS AND THE ZOO

Today was Muffins with Moms and the Kindergarten field trip to the zoo. Muffins turned out to be donuts instead. Let's get you all sugared up before a field trip.

The weather was perfect! Chris and I both took the day to chaperone. Of course we only ended up needing to chaperone our own :P. But it was nice to be able to focus on Violet and not worry about having Gryphin with us.

he put on quite the show for us.

Super nice conductor let the kids ring the bell a few times.

We got Violet's old baby swing out and put it back up on the swing set. I'm glad we saved it. He loved it!!

LOOK WHO'S IN A HIGHCHAIR!

So last night we went to get pizza because there was no way cooking was going to happen. We decided to put Gryphin in a highchair for the first time. I have not been ready for him to sit in a restaurant highchair because he's been so wobbly with the 'sitting on his own thing.' But soon we'll be moving him to the other car seat and he'll have to start sitting at the table with us. He lasted about 3/4 of the meal before getting fussy.

CAMPOUT

We had our overnight camp out Saturday night into Sunday.
Lots of fun. Lots of walking. Lots of activities. Little sleeping.

At the last minute our girls decided they wanted to sing at the camp fire talent show. Sang Make New Friends (the only song they really know. We need to get on learning some more) in front of 150+ kids and adults. Yes...even Violet.

Where sleeping is supposed to take place.

FAIRY GARDEN 2.0

So monday I decided to move the house. It is now on the deck under the pergola. Not so out in the elements. I feared hail would damage the roof. It's ceramic but the edges of the roof leaves are thin. I bought a large planter and it sits on a little wooden table on the deck just right outside the door. The planter measures about 24" and is nice and shallow so we could actually pick this thing up and it's not to heavy.

We planted some mini plants in with the house, added some mulch and pebble rock from our landscaping.

I want to have tea there. Violet keeps looking out the window to see if the Fairies have moved in yet. Looks like I'll have to play Fairy;)

FLOWERS AND FAIRIES

We got the fairy house up. Friday night we went searching for twigs to make a bridge. Added our toadstools and blue glass too. Now Violet wants to make furniture.

Yesterday we planted the flowers we bought thursday. I did not plant our tomato or pepper plants. We're supposed to have really bad storms today and the last thing I need is for them to get destroyed. Granted I know that can happen anytime but I'd prefer it not to happen the day after I plant them.

FAIRY GARDEN

This evening we went to Heartland Nursery to pick up marigolds, tomato plants and pepper plants for this weekend.  Violet knows that this is the Nursery with the Fairy garden set up. They've had it for two years now. Every year she wants to make one and frankly so do I. I always tell her maybe next year because it's all crazy expensive. There's tons of houses to pick and all kinds of accessories.
All we could afford to buy was a ceramic house and I thought it was crazy expensive. So we've decided to make everything else.

This evenings project was the making of the toadstools. We made them out of sculpy and wire. These same sized toadstools were 2.99 a piece! I'll clear coat these before sticking them in the ground. They might not last forever but it sure beats spending that amount of $. We're going to check the wooded area for twigs and rocks next. Make a bridge maybe some furniture. We have a bunch of blue glass dragons tears that we're going to use as water. More pics to come.

EASTER MORNING

Diapers, wipes, socks, onsie, books and a bunny.

Though it looks like a lot of candy, there is not that much. Our bunny always brings socks and underwear. All the eggs are filled with socks.

Violet had to work a little harder this year to find her basket. The Easter bunny left it in her play house.
