LSN PARADE

We went downtown LS last night to watch LSN's homecoming parade. Aka...get free candy.

Violet used to watch this every year when she went to Olive Tree. The parade passes by the school and they took the kids out to watch.

Mr. Joe rode his fancy convertible in the parade.

BUILD IT AND THEY WILL COME

Apparently a fairy has been living in our fairy house this summer. We never say her but she left Violet a note with pixie dust and a necklace thanking her for letting her use the fairy house. Now she has to move on because soon it will get cold. Guess fairies are like geese.  Got to move south for the winter.

A TON OF SKIRTS

Made a bunch of two and three tiered skirts for Violet over the summer. Just finished a bunch of them up by putting in the elastic. I may have gone overboard but I didn't make her any last year and she should be able to wear these for at least two years.

11 MONTH PHOTOS

I thought last month was hard to take. These were almost impossible. Took three people to wrangle him, and I had bad lighting. Not really happy with these but to tired to retake them. One more month. I might literally have to pin him down to take them.

WATER FAIRY WINGS

Of course once I finished Gryphin's monkey wings Violet wanted a pair.  She was specific on what she wanted. Picked out the colors herself and said she wants to be a water fairy.

These are 40% larger than the other ones I made. Unless I used a different material I don't think I could make them any bigger. The larger they get the floppier they get. I'm finishing up a flower crown to go with them. She plans on wearing them to the Ren. Fest in October.

SUCCESSFUL FIRST DAY

Violet had a great day despite the tiny hiccup this morning. She told us all about her day and is in a great mood!

Big hug after she got off the bus! :)

FIRST DAY OF 1st GRADE

First day of 1st grade. Feels like we just started kindergarten.

Neighborhood breakfast before they get on the Mizzou bus.

All the grade schoolers from our street.
Arriving on the Mizzou bus at school
This is where it kind of all went down hill. Lots of clinging onto and holding back tears. I motioned to Mrs. Harrel her teacher and she came over to get Violet and I slipped out of the classroom. I knew we might have trouble this morning because she was asking a ton of questions at bedtime last night. Questions I couldn't ask like, what will we do today, will 1st grade be hard, who will I sit with at lunch, etc.

MEET YOUR TEACHER NIGHT

Meet your teacher night was last night. Violet got to see her new room and meet her new teacher.
No more sitting at tables. She has an actual desk that she can put her supplies in.

Hiding in the shade because it's to bright.

BABY THUNDERDOME

NEW SOCCER SEASON

The new soccer season started this weekend. BIG changes. Bigger field, goalie, rules, positions... a little overwhelming. Lots of confused girls out on the field. Violet's a fast learner and listens well so I know she'll get the hang of it soon.
