PUMPKIN CARVING

 

Violet and Chris found a conjoined twin pumpkin when we went pumpkin picking. We weren't even sure if it was carvable. Chris said it was a little difficult. Completely solid in the middle. Needed two candles.

 

Violet drew what she wanted on the pumpkin and I cut it out.

BUSY DAY

Made Day of the Dead masks after breakfast.

 

Then we went to the park.

 

 

 

We came home to decorate halloween cookies. Then we headed out to have pizza.

  

Finished the day with playing outside and watching the Royals game in the garage.

PARENT TEACHER CONFERENCE

We went to parent teacher conferences tonight and met with Violet's teacher. She is doing EXCELLENT!! 3's across the board, which is good, grading is 1, 2, or 3. She is a wiz at math, advanced in reading and ready for the second grade sight word list. We couldn't be happier. Still lacks confidence though. Don't know how to encourage her more than we already do.  She often tells me she can't read something when I know she can.

HALLOWEEN COSTUME PICS

I finished the kids Halloween costumes on friday and decided this afternoon to take them over to our subdivision trail and take some photos. Next weekend we are super busy and the following friday is Halloween so today was it. I thought the trail would be a nice backdrop as our "yellow brick road" through the woods.

 

 

 

I decided to have a little fun with this pic.

 

Her new lip biting smile. Don't know why she does this. Have to coax a real smile out of her by saying funny things otherwise every photo looks like this.

 

Have I mentioned it's impossible to take photos of him. Took three of us to wrangle him. I am super pleased with how the costume turned out. So far he hasn't tried to yank anything off.

FALL SOCCER PIC

I WILL NOT TOUCH

This is a boy that never sits still and NEVER plays with any of his toys. Instead he'd rather play with the dog toys, climb the fireplace ledge, pull on the baby gate, and grab at Violet's basket of books. I can not let him out of my site for a second, even barricaded in the living room. In the future I see him trying to climb the coffee tables and couch. He has been hearing "NO" a lot lately. It seems like it may be working. When I see him heading for Violet's books he stops and looks at me. He continues towards them and I say "No". He stops in front of them and just sits there with his hands hovering over the books moving his little fingers back and forth.

TOURNAMENT WINNERS!

Girls won their tournament! 2-0. Very exciting game. One goal scored off other teams foot and Violet scored a goal. Gold medals for everyone!
