On friday we heard Santa was flying into St.Louis on a helicopter to a strip mall near Grandma's house.We thought we'd go check it out.

 

Really cool seeing a helicopter fly in and land.

  

Go kind of windy.

 

 

  

Friday night we left Gryphin at Grandma's and headed to Anheuser Busch to see some Christmas lights.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Then we ended the weekend with playing at Bounce U with extended cousins and cousins and get some yummy Italian for dinner.

NEW SPOT FOR THE TREE

So the tree is in a different spot this year. Not where I like it but Mr. Grabby-grabby will not leave it alone if it is next to the fire place inside his "baby jail". The tree is now just on the other side of "baby jail". The gate actually starts between the couch and side table. Luckily we own a skinny tree and it works pretty well in this space.

 

I put up more of the decorations this year. Didn't have the energy last year. Got the pillow slip covers out this year.

So no decorations on the fireplace surround that Mr. Grabby-grabby can break.  Only stuffed animals. By the end of the day these are all over the living room floor.

CHRISTMAS HATS

Put up some christmas decorations yesterday. Got out the christmas hats. Both were Violet's. Only the elf one fits her now.

WHERE'S THE AMERICAN BOY DOLLS?

That's the question Violet keeps asking. I told her they just don't. Her response was, "then I'll just ask Santa because he makes all the toys anyway". Ugh!
So I decided to attempt to make a doll look like a boy. I've seen people on line take AG dolls and turn them into boys. I am unwilling to spend $100 to rework a doll. So I purchased the Madame Alexander doll that's at Costco right now. $19.00.

This is what she looked like out of the box. Pretty cute and the hair was not to bad. But it had to go. Bonus outfit for one of Violet's dolls.

New eyebrows, mouth and freckles. Also cut the eyelashes shorter.

 

AG quality wig. Very Bieber-ish:)

 

And of course he needed a boy outfit. I was boxing up some of Gryphins old clothes and decided I could recycle these into doll clothes. Pants and shirt were once his. I made the wool coat and scarf.

 

Made another shirt too. This is from a onsie.

BLYTHE'S HOUSE

I put together one of those cheapy pressed wood doll houses for Violet's mini Blythe dolls. I bought it this past summer with a 50% off coupon. Got the kit for $15.00. It totally sucked putting together. Not nearly as easy or as well made as the Christmas house I made a few years ago. I'd say this thing is one step above cardboard. But her and I have had fun picking out paper, fabric, painting, gluing, etc. We are still in the middle of working on it.

Baby no neck. Never a fan of school pictures and I only ever buy an 8x10 to add to yearly school folders that I've made. Apparently he was one of the very few babies that actually smiled.

SCHOOL PARTY

I was able to make it to Violet's Halloween party this year. I wasn't able to make it last year because of Gryphin, even though I was home on maternity leave. We're not allowed to bring siblings up to school for parties.

 

 

 

 

BABY JACK JACK

School costume for today.  An easy costume that he can wear all day and one less baby the teachers have to wrangle a costume on and off of. Also, this costume could not be more appropriate for him.
