XMAS TREE LIGHTING

Last night we went to the Mayor's Christmas tree lighting in old downtown Lee's Summit. Her elf hat from last year still fits.

First we stopped at the coffee shop downtown and got hot chocolate and Santa cookies.

About every five minutes Violet asked where Santa was. Of course when he finally arrived, on the fire truck, and walked up the side walk she hid her face.

We decided that we weren't going to talk to Santa tonight. We'll do that another night.

NEW CAR

We got a Mazda CX7. The color is Black Cherry. We've had it about 3 1/2 weeks now. It seats 5. It's larger than our Mazda 5 van but has less trunk space. We have more leg room and head room. Violet can now sit in the middle and see a lot better. The tires on this car are HUGE and we are actually looking forward to the first snow to see how they handle. zoom zoom!

SAY WHAT? WEDNESDAYS

Violet has hit the "WHY" stage. Every answer to WHY is another WHY. Also if there are multiples of anything, say a color, a shape, an animal, ANYTHING, she says "Mommy which one you like". She doesn't just say this once she says it over and over and over again. It's driving me a bit crazy.

SCHOOL PICTURE

This years school picture is much better than last years. The fact that she is smiling shocks me. Anytime we go to get photos taken she gets all shy and frowns. Perfect example is her Halloween photo. I only wish the background was different and her hair looked better. But you can't do much when you're not there.

CAN WE HAVE SOME

Most meals on the weekend include a doll or dolls that have to come watch Violet eat. Today it was Dora and a baby doll she calls 'Peekaboo Baby', because she plays peekaboo with you. As long as she's eating I don't complain who comes to the table to watch. They do so look like they want some though.

MY BEST FRIEND

Violet tells me her best friend is Ivy. Very cute. Violet is very gentle with the dogs and knows to pet them gently. Ivy always seems to be more interested in Violet than Willow and Ivy is with me every morning as I wake up Violet. Usually Violet wants Ivy to get in bed with her. I often times pick Ivy up so Violet can hug her in the morning and get slobbery kisses.

WEAK STOMACH

Violet has generally been a very well kid and doesn't get many boo-boo's. When she gets hurt or doesn't feel good she doesn't handle the pain very well. She has this tendency to get really pale and greenish and get really clammy. She'll go limp, wimper a bit and look as if she's going to faint. It's happened about four times. Once when when she was sick and threw up, when she fell and scraped her knees, and once she complained her tummy hurt but I think it was a gas pocket.
So The minute I stepped into work yesterday her school called saying Violet was sick and it looked like she was going to throw up. I thought this was odd since I just dropped her off and she was fine and acting silly. So I went to get her. We went to Target on the way home so I could get a prescription refill and she was skipping around, laughing and asking for candy. Not a bit sick. I asked her many times yesterday why she didn't feel good and each time she said she fell off the potty and bumped her head and then her tummy hurt. This morning we informed her teacher about this and if it should happen again it should pass in about 20 minutes. We'll be bring this up to her Dr. next time we go in just to hear what they think of this.

THE FORCE IS STRONG WITH THIS ONE

I'm keeping the theme going. It took me about 2hrs to cut this out, I thought it would take longer. The key was to start in the middle of the face and work out and cut the small pieces first.

Cool mistake pic.

HALLOWEEN PARTY 2010

Today was party day at school. For the last two years I've managed to dress her in a costume she can wear all day. Violet came home with lots of treats and told us all about her friends costumes. We asked her what all she did today and she said "trick or treat I want some candy people!"
