CLEANING

Gryphin's favorite thing to do right now is cleaning. Give him a rag and he likes to wipe everything down. He has a little broom too, likes to push it around on the floor and torment the dogs. Then I have to take it away and a melt down ensues.

 

 

Hard work deserves a popsicle.

SUMMER FUN

Our neighbors with twins Gryphin's age got a new baby pool with slide.

He was more interested in getting out of the pool than staying in the pool.

Everyone had fun!

 

 

 

 

END OF THE YEAR

You could hear the bus a mile away.Music playing and kids singing and screaming.

 

Post last day trip to Yogurtini for frozen yogurt.

 

Violet came home with another perfect report card!! Her and another girl received a certificate and pile of books for being the top readers in class. Violets book list hit 742 books read this year. Now that list includes books she's read and books we've read to her. We read every night. I also keep on her about reading daily. I keep hoping she'll love to read. She reads really well but is not into it. Maybe someday she'll pick up a book on her own.

 

Here's this years keep folder. It's overflowing!! To much good stuff to get rid of.

LAST DAY OF FIRST GRADE

NEW OLD TABLE

 

Our kitchen table and chairs where really showing some wear. It's a great set. Solid wood. I did not want to go buy a new table and chairs. So I decided to refinish it. I figured I couldn't make it look worse and it was worth taking the time to do it.

After lots of messy stripping, sanding, staining and polyurethaning it turned out pretty good. Some scratches are still visible but it gives it character. Hope this lasts another ten years.

This was the original color. Cherry. I was never really a fan of the color. I restained the table walnut. Matches the floors and all of our other wood pieces.

  

All stripped and sanded. I should have taken a photo of the messy gooey stripping process. 

WILD WISTERIA

Looks great this year. Bees are in heaven.

 

SUMMER IS ALMOST HERE

Violet got her very own library card on Saturday. I signed her up for the summer reading program too.

Subdivision pools opened today. Crazy girls wanted to go swimming.

 

He was not a fan of all the commotion at the pool.

ANOTHER TOOTH GONE

Another tooth gone yesterday!

 

Fairy door likes to show up all over the house. The fairy also seemed to clean up her doll mess, which FREAKED her out.

"MYSTERY" CAMP OUT

Overnight camp was this past weekend. Which means little sleep and lots of laundry when I get home ;)

We put our Fairy garden together today. Pretty sure a Fairy has already moved in. There is Pixie dust everywhere.

 

 

I'M A BROWNIE NOW!

We had our Bridging ceremony a little early because we do not have access to the schools cafeteria in May. Don't know why. We were just told at the beginning of the year that we could not use it. I really wanted to hold the Bridging ceremony indoors because I didn't want to have to worry about weather.  So our last two meetings will be a field trip and pizza party.
