ADVENTURE TIME...

...at Adventureland.

We spent two days in Iowa at Adventureland with some of our neighbors. There were a lot of firsts for Violet. First hotel sleepover, first theme park and first time going with out a nap for two days. She did pretty good with the no naps.

We swam most of the afternoon on friday. The pool was not busy at all. In fact we pretty much had it to ourselves.


Big steak dinner after lots of swimming. Then we went and did some more swimming.

Violet fell asleep in the car from the parking lot to McDonalds after we left the park. Which was a total of 5 minutes. We drove home that night hoping she'd sleep in the car. She of course did not, that is until we got to the Grandview Triangle.

NEW PAINT

Painting and staining is complete...finally. Ignore the dead grass. We've given up trying to keep it green.

Not the best picture of the front door. It's kind of hard to see, but it's bright green.

The fence, deck and swingset have all been stained No more hail marks. I know not one pic shows any trees, but we do have some. Eight in fact, not large ones. I'm not sure how I took pictures without getting any of them in the shot.

JULY 4th BBQ

Yesterday evening we had a our neighborhood BBQ and fireworks. The weather was great. Almost chilly last night.

Violet made it till 10:00 last night, then woke up this morning at 5:45. As a result she's a bit crabby today.

PEEKABOO, I SEE YOU

Picture of the baby birds living on our back deck. There were three. They went from egg to this size in about a week and a half. Crazy! They are gone now, I took this last week.

WET KITTY

Saturday morning would have been our neighborhood bike parade and pancakes by Chris Cakes but it started to rain the minute we opened the garage.

Violet was very excited about her bike. Then started crying when we said we can't ride to go get pancakes. So we hopped in the car and went to BobEvans for pancakes.

The bike is in the garage still decorated and her helmet still has her ears tied to it.

80's SIDE PONYTAILS

BAD BOO BOO

Violet took a face plant into the side walk last night. Very nasty looking. Nothing broken. Basically really bad scrapes and a swollen lip. This is her first really bad face boo boo. On the plus side, no going limp, turning white and almost passing out like she used to do in the past when she'd get hurt.

Cleaned it real good and put some medicine on it. Hopefully it will heal quickly.

80's MUSIC, BALLOONS & ICE CREAM!!

Went over to Summit Fair shopping mall saturday evening. They had a 80's cover band playing and a bunch of free stuff for kids. We decided on the balloons instead of face paint. We were all sweaty and gross and paint seemed like a bad idea.


Then we went over to Yogurtini and had icecream inside the nice AC. You could still hear the music outside.
