FIRST HAIR CUT

Violet had her first hair cut today. It was starting to get all stringy looking and needed to be cleaned up. I went in for my hair cut and Violet went along. She watched me and then it was her turn. She didn't cry or wiggle at all. When I comb and blow dry her hair I call it 'getting pretty', so I think she thought it was a game and kept saying 'Viy pity'. Very cute and of course she captured everyone's attention.

Almost a smile here. She has a cute little flip now. If I could just get a hair clip to stay in her hair to hold her bangs back till they get longer it would look perfect.

WHERE'S MY TOYS?

I noticed that after we set up Violet's play area last week and put all her bins on the shelves, she quickly forgot they existed. We've used these plastic bins for a while so she knows what they are. I decided to make labels for them last night. I stuck them on the bins and then showed Violet where her bins where. We looked at the picture and then opened each bin to see what was inside. This morning she went straight for her train bins and wanted to play with her trains.

BIRDS ARE BACK

I decided to put the bird feeders back outside yesterday. This time they are closer to the house so that we can open the blinds and let Violet watch them. It's getting hard to keep her entertained right now. Cabin fever has set in. The birds showed up today so it gave us something to do for a while.

BYE BYE DINING ROOM

We moved all of Violet's toys out of the Living room and into the Dining room. We decided that right now this space was really wasted. I think we've used the dining room maybe 4 times in the four years we've been here. It'll return as a dining room someday. So bye bye circus themed dining room. Hello circus themed play room. Good thing the decor looks good with all the toys. Her toys look better in here than in our Harry Potter-esque/LOTR-esque living room. Swords, helmets, and tapestries don't exactly look like fun to a kid.
