PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE

After just a week and a half in her new classroom Violet learned the Pledge of Allegiance. I didn't even know they were saying it till one day in the car she recited it.
You'll have to turn up your volume to hear it. She's talking very softly.
I've been using Curlformers in her hair. This is the only thing that I have found that works. Thanks to Miss Angie for showing them to me.

This pic is from Saturday afternoon when we tried them. They are mesh tubes that are formed into a spiral that you pull the hair through with a giant hook. I then tie them up on top of her head and she can sleep in them.

CABINET COMPLETE

I finished the sewing cabinet last week and I am very happy with how it turned out. I used a much darker stain than what it originally had. Not a fan of the oak color. The clear coat I put on will be much more durable than what was originally on the cabinet. Next up is to get a piece of plexi glass cut for the top so that you can write at it without leaving marks in the polyurethane. I still haven't had a chance to have the machine serviced.

SOCCER GAME

1st SOCCER GAME

Ready for our first soccer game. She really looks the part. Her teams name is the Ladybugs.
Practice before the game.
This was pretty much her expression through out the entire game. I'm not sure if it's an expression of frustration, unhappiness, the glaring light, etc. But when I asked if she had fun she said yes.
The game went really well. They don't know how to pass to each other yet so everyone is fighting for the ball. They divide the girls up into two teams of aggressive and non aggressive players. They play three on three. Some how Violet landed on the aggressive team. How that happened I don't know. But she held her own and got in there, played and ran hard. No pouting or standing around if she couldn't get to the ball. We'll see if she continues on with the aggressive team.
