DOLL BEDS

I finished the doll beds tonight. I ran out of white fabric so I had to run to the store. I'm very happy with these.
I especially like how the detailing turned out on the pillow cases and sheets.
And here they are stacked. I personally like the better side by side but I know Violet will prefer them as bunk beds.
They measure about 24" tall, 23" long and 13" wide.

CROWN CENTER FUN

We decided to spend the morning down at Crown Center and do a few things. Typically, Crown Center is the last place I want to go on a day off. We're there everyday. But Violet likes to see were we work so we decided to go to Kaleidoscope. Her first visit.

Then we had lunch at Fritz's and waited patiently for our food to be brought to us by train.  Always exciting for a four year old.

Some giant Lego people in Crown Center.

I told Violet last night that the biggest christmas tree EVER was at mommy and daddy's work. She kept asking is it bigger than our house? Is it bigger than your work?

A rare photo of the two of us.

Then we attempted ice skating. When I say we I mean Chris.

She lasted about 25min, which was about 20min longer than I thought she would.

LAST PRESENT

I'm finishing up the last of the made christmas gifts. I try to make at least one thing for Violet for christmas. This year she's getting 6. Mostly all doll related. The two big items Violet's getting this year is Belle's dress and these stackable doll beds with the bedding. I just have to put the zipper in the dress and finish one of the two doll quilts. Since taking this photo beds are painted. Just need to cut the plywood for the center.

I found plans on line for an 18" doll farmhouse style bed. The foot board was shorter but I decided to make them the same height so they could stack and become bunk beds. Drilled holes and a doll rod pin hold these in place when stacked.
Santa's only getting credit for the dress this year. The doll quilts are all made out of scrap fabric left over from stuff I've made Violet. She's too smart and would notice. Besides, why should Santa get all the credit.
All our christmas presents for family are bought or finished. We decided to wrap some of them last night.

MAYOR'S CHRISTMAS TREE LIGHTING

We went to the Mayor's Christmas tree lighting on Fridau.
Santa made an appearance. Live reindeer this year.

Getting our traditional hot chocolate and cookie before the show.

Waiting.
