LAST DAY AT OLIVE TREE :(

Lots of saying good-byes and hugs this morning.
I don't think she fully comprehends not seeing most of her friends on a daily basis. So many of her classmates have been together since they were in the infant room. It's been fun seeing how everyone has grown up and changed.
But we will be back in early spring with baby boy and get to see everyone again and do this all over again.

She's in her PJ's because today they are having a pajama party and get breakfast food for lunch. Always a fun day for the kids.

Five years of fun coming to an end. Time to start a new adventure.
Who is that baby?

CHESHIRE CAT BAG

Officially done with Violet's Halloween costume. I made the Cheshire Cat bag over the weekend. It took all the energy I had to finish this up.  I would have liked to have used a felt more pink in color but this is all I had and I didn't feel like going out and buying any. His face is on both sides of the bag. Made of wool and acrylic felt. Measures 9x11x4. Looks great with the dress.

TIMED LUNCH

For lunch today I decided to make Violet's lunch as if she were eating at school. She also had a time limit of 20 minutes. That's how long she'll have to eat at school.

She had to open everything on her own. No help from me.

She asked me midway through the meal if she could be done with her grapes. I said I don't know, can you? She looked puzzled. I told her she's going to have to make that decision on her own. And hopefully she'll make the right decision. She actually ate her cookie last without asking me about when to eat it.

And she made it with a minute thirty to spare. That's amazing for a kid that takes FOREVER to eat anything.  She had to put everything back in the lunch box and zip it closed too. I realize she'll have distractions when she gets to school, but the reason for doing this was to show her just how long she really has to eat.
