KC ZOO

We spent Saturday morning at the zoo. It's half off right now plus with my STL Zoo membership we got another 50% off. So it only cost $5 total. Good deal. I have a hard time paying for the KC zoo when STL is free and one of the top zoo's. But for $5 we had a good time.

Violet was mostly interested in the ducks.

Kangaroos.

Violet looking for the Kangaroos.

Did not like the roaming sheep...

...especially this guy.

Didn't make it to the Africa area. To long of a walk and Violet was getting tired.

Lastly we went to see some monkeys. Violet was getting very mellow so we headed home after this.

BIG GIRL UTENSILS

It's been about two weeks now, but Violet has officially switched over to metal utensils. Yeah! No more trying to jab food with a plastic fork and then getting mad because it falls off.

HALLOWEEN 2009

Here are a few pics from Halloween night. Click here to see the rest.

ALL DRESSED UP

I felt like we were rushing around all day to get everything set up and ready to go. Plus we had to squeeze in getting dinner ready and getting dressed. It was a long busy day. Here's some pics of Violet and I getting ready.

Love the look.

Violet did really, really well last night. First we went to our neighbors for a small get together before we headed out. We the made it around to 5 houses before she started pulling on the hat and fussing. She was able to say candy and bye-bye to everyone. She couldn't quite figure out trick or treat.

MORE TREATS

We picked Violet up early today after her party and nap and went to get ice cream. This is actually the first ice cream cone she's ever had. Usually we get sundaes but Poppy's has tiny cones free for kinds under 2. Of course half way through the cone she dropped it. She cried and cried. It was very cute and hard not to laugh because she just melted. The nice lady gave us another and all was good again.

I was amazed when we got to school to pick her up that she had kept her belt on and the bone in her hair. She was a big hit today!

CAPTAIN CAVE GIRL!!!

Violet's all dressed up as a cave girl for school today. The giant bone did not go. The kids will have a parade and a party.

THE WITCHES OF RUSTIC CIRCLE

Trying on our witches hats. I decided I need to make one last night after shopping for one and not finding anything I liked. You can see a close up of it here. Violet's was a dollar at Target. I think we look pretty good!

TERRIBLE TWO'S?

Violet's picture day proof sheet came home yesterday.

Take one.

Take two.

Take three.

Take four.
Think we'll go with four. Ha ha!

I guess she wasn't having a good day. It seems like she's going through some stage right now. Found out yesterday morning that she cries every morning she has to leave the baby room and go to the toddler room. She gets dropped off real early and her teachers don't get in till 7:30 so she gets to hang out with the babies and her old teachers. Also found out from a different teacher in a different room that she's not eating lunch really well. I've asked over and over again how she does with eating and we've been told she eats just fine. Hmmm. I know how she eats at home, it's a struggle. So I'm hoping she's just going through some funk right now. I can only guess it's the 'Terrible Twos' early.

I NEED ALL THESE BABIES

This is what book time looks like before bedtime. Violet has to have an arm full of babies to go to bed with. Usually 3 to 4. Most of the time she can barely see over them and I have to hold the book up in the air for her to even see it. And there is no taking them away once she gets in bed. She hugs them till she eventually falls asleep. Then we have to go in and move them. Many times they are under her. I don't even know how that could be comfortable.
