BINGHAM--WAGGONER ESTATE

I got free tickets to the Bingham-Waggoner estate in Independence. Every room in the house was decorated for Christmas. The estate was plotted in 1827 on the Santa Fe trail. Current home was built in 1852. Wish I had brought a camera.
Left sitting room.
Main stair case.

Dining room.

Upstairs sitting room.

Upstairs girl bedroom. There are areas of the house that original paint has been left.

The only thing Violet really wanted. As we walked in the house we were told that there were cookies on the third floor. So for the next half hour all I heard was 'when are we getting cookies'. But really the two girls did great. It's asking a lot to take a 4 and 6 year old to go look at an old house and antiques. It was fun showing her what things used to look like. The old phone, vacume, sewing machines, curling iron, etc. Everyday objects we use today. That was fun to show her.

Outside porch wrapped all the way around the house.
