After a long week of being sick Ivy's little heart just couldn't take anymore. On thursday and friday she was her old self. We thought the antibiotics were doing the trick and that her liver infection was just an infection and not something else. We still believe that the antibiotics were doing their job but her heart was just to weak to take any more illness. She gave us two great last days of being her silly,
funny, sassy self. She left us on saturday afternoon some what suddenly at home and in my arms. We are glad she was home with us where she felt safe and comfortable and we didnt have to make that decision to take her in.
Our little family is surely feeling this loss. She was our first baby. A hard headed, sassy, full of crap dog that we will forever miss. It has been a hard 2 1/2 days. I find the routines I had with her the hardest, the mornings as she followed me into the bathroom and ran in and out of my legs like a cat and the evenings when she'd sit at the end of my recliner watching tv. She was my shadow and  my comfort. I could go on and on and on.
There will never be another dog like you. For such a little dog you left a huge impression. We will forever miss you. May doggy heaven be filled with piles of wood chips for you to chew on.
Rest in peace Miss Ivy xoxo
