HONESTY AWARD & GRADE CARD

We finally made it to a school assembly.  Violet was awarded a certificate for Honesty. Each classroom has a kid chosen. She was very excited when she found out last week and has been waiting all school year to get an award. The above pic is of the Kindergartener's coming into the gym last.

Getting her certificate.

Yay!!

Violet also brought home her report card yesterday. Another perfect report card!! It was noted that she is reading above grade level! Awesome! We are so proud! Maybe with that stated she will be more confident about reading. She tells me all the time she can't read something. Then I ask her to look again and try. She can read just fine but for some reason she thinks she can't. She even already knows 3/4 of her 4th quarter site words but tells me she doesn't know them. Maybe this summer we'll work on reading confidence.

Isaak's the exact same way about reading. His teacher said he's at a first grade reading level, and reads words just fine. Then when the books come out he says, "I can't read that." Bob books are great for 1st books, but I think he could move on from that. I think how long some books are is a little intimidating to them though.
