APRIL FOOLS DAY

We've been talking about April 1st as April Fools day and how you play pranks on people. I packed Violet's lunch with plastic food. She uses those bento boxes for lunch. It has two compartments, top and bottom. The bottom contains her real lunch. I wish I could see her expression when she opens her lunch today.

This morning I gave her cereal for breakfast. Not uncommon. Except I froze it over night.

I discovered Violet does not like being tricked at 6:00am. She had a fit when I started taking pictures. Full on crying.

I stuffed her shoes at the toes with toilet paper. She didn't like that either. Threw the toilet paper at us.

HONESTY AWARD & GRADE CARD

We finally made it to a school assembly.  Violet was awarded a certificate for Honesty. Each classroom has a kid chosen. She was very excited when she found out last week and has been waiting all school year to get an award. The above pic is of the Kindergartener's coming into the gym last.

Getting her certificate.

Yay!!

Violet also brought home her report card yesterday. Another perfect report card!! It was noted that she is reading above grade level! Awesome! We are so proud! Maybe with that stated she will be more confident about reading. She tells me all the time she can't read something. Then I ask her to look again and try. She can read just fine but for some reason she thinks she can't. She even already knows 3/4 of her 4th quarter site words but tells me she doesn't know them. Maybe this summer we'll work on reading confidence.

FABSITS BABIES

Grandpa Fabsits                                                Uncle John

Gryphin is definitely a Fabsits baby. He has the Fabsits jaw line. He really looks like Grandpa Fabsits' photo. Gryphin's photo might not be the best to compare, I could not find a photo of him with his head in the same position.

PRACTICE SITTING UP

We've been working on sitting up lately. He's able to hold it longer and longer before falling over.

Do I catch him or take a picture? Take the picture :).

He thinks this is a game.

MONSTER TOOTH FAIRY PILLOW

I've been meaning to make a pillow for a while now. Violet has a slightly wiggly tooth. In fact the adult tooth has already started to come in behind the baby tooth. We've been telling her to try and wiggle the baby tooth often.
The tooth pillow has a zipper for a mouth. She can put her tooth in his mouth and the Tooth Fairy can put her money in it too. I made it so it can hang off her bed and not have to be placed under her pillow.

I haven't made any plushies in a while and enjoyed making this guy. I've just been to busy or to tired to make anything lately.

FIRST SPRING SEASON SOCCER GAME

So Chris jokingly told Violet he'd giver her 20 bucks if she made 10 goals. I didn't hear about this wager until after the game when she told me 'Daddy owes me $20'. I said 'What'. Then she proceeded to tell me about the deal. So, someone has to pay up.
And she didn't get 10 goals she got 11. It was crazy!

Besides making goals, she's getting really good at passing to team mates. It's one of the things they are really working on. I also heard the coach telling them to work on their 'pull backs'. It's good to see her working on and figuring out some skills.
Goal!

FIRE STATION VISIT

We had our troop field trip to the Fire Station last night. The highlight of the trip was each girl getting to spray the hose.

LEPRECHAUN TRAP

Violet made a Leprechaun trap last night. She was pretty sure she'd catch one.

She drew him a picture and left him money  so he'd go inside the trap.
No such luck catching him. He did leave some M&M's and a trail of green streamers.

ST. PAT'S PARADE & COOKIE SELLING

Lots of fun Girl Scout stuff this weekend. Started saturday with walking in the Lee's Summit St. Patrick's Day parade and ended with cookie selling today at HyVee.
We have done an awesome job selling cookies! It will help us out tremendously. As a new troop we have very little funds and since cookie selling came after christmas this year we've had to be very frugal with what money we do have. Going into next year we will be better off and hope to do a few field trips that we can actually afford. We hope to be able to do something fun before then end of this year too.

CRAZY WEEK

I have been back to work for two weeks now and have yet been able to complete a full week. From a snow day, to spring break to a sick baby my schedule has been a mess.
Yesterday Violet came to work with us. The plan was she was going to hang out with me all day, get lunch and go to the Sea Life Aquarium during lunch. I had a buy one get one coupon. It's to expensive to pay full price. Anyway, at 10:40 I got a call from daycare saying Gryphin was throwing up everywhere. So I told Violet we were going to have to leave. Of course Violet is then standing in my booth bawling. Luckily Chris was able to take her the rest of the day, get lunch and go see the fish. And by the way Gryphin is fine. He didn't throw up at all when we got home and was acting normal.
The above pick is of Violet in the morning making a fort under my desk. Pulling a Costanza! I need to remember that.

A fancy lunch in the Crown Room (Hallmark cafeteria)

Then off the the Aquarium.

TOO SPOOKY

Violet likes scary movies. Kid appropriate scary of course. She discovered  R.L Stine's The Haunting Hour on the Hub channel a while ago.  They are scary shows for kids. Each episode is a different story.  We've watched one about a possessed ice cream truck and one about a scary doll that comes to life.  This is how she watches them. One eye peaking out from under the blanket. I tell her she doesn't have to watch them and her reply is always that she likes them.
