CHILLY MORNING

Feels like fall today. Violet got to wear one of her new fall outfits today. She was pretty excited. She said 'I look like a big kid'. Yes you do :(.
I'm not sure what's going on with her posed smiles lately.  She's not really opening her mouth. She had school pictures on friday and I fear they're gonna look funny.

A MONSTER BABY SHOWER

All of our Hallmark friends threw us an awesome baby shower this afternoon. A monster themed ice cream party to be exact.

Lots of goodies.

Lots of gifts.

Lots of diapers! Yes!

All our loot. I was going to take pictures of it all when I got home but I ran out of steam. Know that it was all awesome. We couldn't be more grateful! Now to write some than you notes.

DAISIES!!

Last night was our first Daisy Girl Scout meeting. Yes I'm a leader and probably crazy for taking that on, but so far I'm planned ahead for about 6 meetings. Not bad. We ended up having eight girls show up. We'll see if we gain anymore in the next few weeks with maybe word of mouth. Getting the info out that we even exist has been kind of difficult.

Buddy Addi is a Daisy too and her mom is the other leader. Which is nice since we live right across from each other.
I will not be able to post pictures of the troop because of a Girl Scout rule so I'll have to take pics without the other girls. I am going to take pics of our troop to share with parents and maybe create a book at the end of the year that the parents can purchase. A fun keepsake for the girls.

37 WEEKS

Baby is the size of Swiss Chard. I'm guessing that's in length because otherwise he's awful skinny.
Chard, is a leafy green vegetable often used in Mediterranean cooking. The leaves can be green or reddish in color like Bib Lettuce, chard stalks also vary in color. Chard has been bred to have highly nutritious leaves at the expense of the root.
Baby still breech and I'm dilated to only a 1. So probably no chance I'll go into labor before the scheduled c-section. Which was my fear. However Friday night I thought I might have been. Horrible back pain at 1:45am. Couldn't tell if it was just that or cramping. This is how contractions started with Violet. Back pain has continued every night since friday. Sleeping is not happening.
On a good note I'm holding steady at having gained 22.6 lbs for the last two appointments. We'll see what the final number will be in two weeks. Violet was 22.4 at the end. Though I feel like I've gained 10lbs more that is not the case. I should be back in my skinny jeans by Xmas!!

KC REN FEST

Early morning at the Renaissance Festival.  Prepared ourselves for a hot day but it wasn't to bad. It ended up being cloudy till after we left. I packed lots of water and frozen wash cloths.
Pirate theme this weekend.
It pays to look cute and dress like a fairy. She got lots of attention today.
With 3 1/2 weeks to go this is how I enjoyed the Ren Fest.
Sporting my Jolly Roger shirt.. A bit stretched out.
More Fairy interaction.

The highlight of the day. They remembered this from last year and talked about it all morning.
That and seeing the mermaids.

35 WEEKS

So this week baby is the size of  a honeydew melon.
He apparently is not going to flip so a C section has been scheduled for week 39. Now I just hope I don't go into labor before the scheduled C section. Let the count down begin!!

We played our first soccer game of the season yesterday and it was hot.
Violet played well even in the heat.

Hot and sweaty.

33 WEEKS 5 DAYS ALONG

With all the craziness going on I forgot to mention my Dr's appointment. Baby is about the size of a cantaloupe. I've gained 20.4 lbs. Only gained 4oz since last appointment. Maybe I'm starting to level off. Did the same with Violet. I know they say you usually gain a lot in the end. We'll see what happens with the next few weeks.
My blood pressure is pretty low. Low enough that the nurse taking it said 'wow your pressure is low'. I'm also anemic right now and on iron. I've been feeling very light headed and dizzy lately. Have at least one episode a day. That only happened two or three times with Violet. I was told the low blood pressure combined with low iron is causing this feeling. Need to try and up my protein intake and not move to quickly.
Baby is still breech and I'm pretty sure he's footling breech. I feel kicking so low it seems like he's trying to get out. Next appointment if he hasn't moved, ,which I doubt he will, we'll discuss the situation.

THIRD DAY BETTER

Chris got her on the bus this morning. Much better this morning. No tears. A little apprehensive. You can see that in the video as she grabs the big girls hands to get on the bus. She's convinced that they are her bus partner. I had to remind her that at some point they may want to sit with there friends on the bus. But for now whatever works getting her on the bus.

FIRST DAY OF KINDERGARTEN PART II

Here comes the bus!

Looking around to find us.

So she made it on the bus at school with no problems.
Violet came a home a different kid than the one we had left this morning. She told us all about her day. I asked if she wanted to do it again tomorrow and she said yes. :)

FIRST DAY OF KINDERGARTEN

The morning started out pretty good.Apparently she wants to be a Ballerina Gymnast when she grows up. Two things we've never signed her up for. :D

We went to our annual pancake breakfast down the street.

This is were things started to unravel. She didn't want to eat and we didn't really push her to much.

This years Kindergarteners.

All the grade school kids on our street.

For two years she's talked about getting to ride Mr. Matt's Mizzou bus. This morning she did not want to get on. We did not ride the bus with her. We met the bus up at the school.

Getting off the bus in front of school.
Trying to be brave and smile.

This is when it all went down hill. The little girl next to her was getting a little upset which in turn made Violet upset.  I nudged to Chris to get going because the teacher was trying to get parents out the door. Chris gave her a hug and she just cried and cried. I quickly kissed her on the forehead and left the room. Violet was so glued to Chris that he and the teacher had a hard time prying her off. Her teacher told us to go to the office to let them know the situation and they brought out a counselor to notify her.
We then went to an informal Kindergarten meeting for parents in the library. Afterwards we had a little discussion with the counselor about Violet plus the fact that her world is going to change again in about 6 weeks. So now they are aware of our home situation.
What makes me upset is having her being the only child in the classroom balling. I just don't want her to be singled out as the weak one.
I'll get pictures this afternoon of her getting off the regular bus and of her getting on the bus tomorrow morning. Hope all goes more smoothly tomorrow morning.

First Day of School Poem
I wonder what you're doing right now,
And if everyone is treating you kind.
I hope there is a special person,
A nice friend that you can find.

I wonder if the teacher knows,
Just how special you are to me.
And if the brightness of your heart
Is something they can see.

I wonder if you are thinking about us,
And if you need a hug.
I already miss the sound of your voice
And how you give my hand a tug.

I wonder if you could possibly understand
How hard it is for me to let you grow.
On this day know that my heart breaks,
For this is the first step in letting my baby go.
